🔒You searched: maths app for kids without ads
A maths app for kids with no ads, no subscription and no data collection
There is no free app; there is only an app whose price you can see and one whose price you cannot.
How "free" pays for itself
- Ads. A child practising the 7 times table sees a video for a different game every two rounds. The ad is designed to be tapped; the maths is not.
- Subscriptions. The first two tables are free; the rest are 4.99 a month, presented to the child as a locked door with a key.
- Data. An analytics SDK reports what the child does, on which device, when — to companies you have never heard of. The privacy label calls this "Data Linked to You" or "Data Used to Track You".
How to read the App Store privacy label
Every app page has an "App Privacy" section. Three things are worth a look: whether it says Data Not Collected; whether the developer is in the App Store's Kids category (which forbids third-party ads and analytics); and whether the price is a one-time purchase or "Free" with in-app purchases listed underneath.
What Kalko does instead
It costs 2.99 € once. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscription. There is no account: the player name is stored on the device and nowhere else. No analytics SDK is included, so nothing is sent anywhere — the privacy label reads Data Not Collected. Settings sit behind a parental gate. That is the whole model, and it is why the price is on the front of the box.
Checking for yourself
You do not have to take our word for it.
- On the App Store page. Scroll to App Privacy: Data Not Collected. Scroll to the price: a one-time purchase, no in-app purchases listed.
- In the app, open Settings. Through the parental gate. There is no sign-in, no sync, no account — only preferences, the privacy policy and a reset button.
- Turn Wi-Fi off and play. Everything works offline because nothing is fetched or sent.
If a future version ever needed a connection for a feature, it would be optional and stated in the update notes.
Download on the App StoreTips for choosing any kids' app
- Prefer a visible one-time price over "Free" with a subscription hidden inside.
- Look for Data Not Collected, not just "we take your privacy seriously".
- Try to reach the settings as a child would. If nothing stops you, nothing stops them.
Questions about ads and privacy
Does Kalko have in-app purchases?
No. The 2.99 € purchase includes everything, and Family Sharing lets every child in the family use it.
Does the app need an account?
No. The child types a first name (20 characters maximum) and that is the only thing the app knows about them — and it stays on the device.
Is Kalko in the Kids category?
It is built to the Kids category rules: no third-party ads, no third-party analytics, outgoing links behind a parental gate.
